Interpreting the history of this old RCMP stable, the design for Cheval was inspired by found objects uncovered during the demolition process. This long and narrow space relied heavily on programmable LED lighting technologies to define areas. The design of the ceiling therefore became the focus. Undulating zebra wood panels define programmatic areas, lowering the scale of the space. Along with the lighting, the ceiling becomes the visual map of the space, allowing patrons to understand the layout of the lounge during crowded nights, based solely on the design of the ceiling.
